iO Journal / iO BOOKS
iO (pronounced [ahy-oh]) is a small press publisher of handmade poetry chapbooks + ephemera, and a quarterly electronic journal of new American poetry. We publish younger, up-and-coming American voices alongside established poets in each issue. We don’t subscribe to a theme, particular style, or aesthetic.
We also do first-book interviews, book reviews, or publish conversations with our poets about a variety of things. We read year round, & guidelines can be found here.
iO: a Journal of New American Poetry was founded in March, 2011 as an extension of the Younger American Poets Reading series, and is edited by Wendy Xu and Kyle McCord
iO BOOKS published its first chapbook, WHAT A TREMENDOUS TIME WE’RE HAVING! by Nick Sturm, in February 2012. We will publish our second title, a collaborative book Shut Up & Bloom by Matthew Suss & Ben Kopel in March 2013, for release at AWP Boston. Visit iO BOOKS here.
